Disinfection

With the current COVID-19 outbreaks, and more infectious diseases in the future, it makes sense to think about easy possibilities for disinfection. Nobody wants to be scrubbing something for ten minutes, honestly. So here are some easier ways to keep safe, using UV-C lighting, which is what hospitals around the world use to disinfect their surgical instruments. Whether you choose an inexpensive light and position it yourself, a vacuum with UV-C, or a fully-automated robot, you should benefit from the germicidal properties of UV-C light. However you choose to use UV-C light, make sure to not look at it under any circumstances, and do not let it shine upon your skin. Any direct exposure to UV-C light is dangerous. The best way to use a UV-C light bulb is to hook it up to a smart switch or outlet. Activate the bulb when you are out of the house, and turn it off before you come back. If you get one with ozone, be sure to air out the house for at least fifteen minutes before staying in the room.
